May has so many reasons to celebrate.
- Mother’s Day!
- My Wedding Anniversary!
- My son’s Birthday!
And this Healthy Asparagus made with spelt angel hair, which has been my go-to, get-folks-fed meal as of late.
You can have this dish whipped up and on the table before the dreaded question, “What’s for dinner?” is uttered.
It’s a quality cheap, made with REAL ingredients, it’s satisfying, it’s friggin delicious, + you NEED this in your world.
With that said, let’s make a happy time in the kitchen, shall we?
Things you will need:
spelt angel hair, coconut amino, asparagus, green onions, basil leaves, portobello mushroom, Grapeseed Oil, onion powder, and pink Himalayan sea salt.
Let’s talk spelt angel hair. I use spelt because it’s not hybridized and over-processed like many varieties of wheat on the market. How many wheat varieties on the market can you say nurture the immune system with nutrients? Not many, spelt does.
It’s made from pure ancient grains, grown and harvested using traditional methods, which I love. It has a great taste and texture that truly is a gift from nature. If you’re interested in the spelt grain, and its health benefits, check this out.
Now. You’ve got the best quality pasta known to man, break out your boiling pot and follow the cooking directions.
While your pasta is boiling, get your asparagus, and portobello mushrooms (not pictured here) in some grapeseed oil over medium heat.
A brief word on asparagus:
Due to its wildly versatile quality, natural assertive flavor it pairs well in grapeseed oil.
Grapeseed oil is my new everyday cooking oil. And No, it doesn’t’ taste like grapes, it has a neutral, clean taste that compliments and holds the flavor quality of whatever you pair it with.
Alright. Your asparagus is doing its thing the portobello mushrooms are popping and warming, and it’s all good.
Don’t overcook your asparagus!
The goal here is to leave them on the fresh, green, crunchy side a few minutes in the pan and you’ll be fine.
Add green onions to saute, spelt angel hair, coconut aminos, sliced basil, pink sea salt, and onion powder.
Toss it a few times to get a good mix. That’s it. You’re done.
Healthy asparagus!
Serve it up hot, topped with fresh basil.
You may now experience, internal bliss.
