DARK BUTTERSCOTCH SQUARES

Serves: 12-16 squares
Ingredients
  • 1 Stick of Earth Balance Butter
  • 2 Cups of Dark brown sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Cups of sifted Spelt flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder (No Aluminum)
  • ½ teaspoon pink salt
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of chopped pecans
  • 1 tablespoon of Sea Salt Flakes for topping
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven at 350 degrees.
  2. Slowly melt stick of butter over medium-high heat.
  3. In a large bowl combine all ingredients. Slowly add in sifted flour. Add pecans. Mix well.
  4. Pour and spread into a 10 x 16 pan that's lightly buttered and floured.
  5. Bake until done. Toothpick clean
  6. Sprinkle with sea salt flakes
  7. Let cool and cut into squares.
