DARK BUTTERSCOTCH SQUARES

Serves: 12-16 squares
- 1 Stick of Earth Balance Butter
- 2 Cups of Dark brown sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 2 Cups of sifted Spelt flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder (No Aluminum)
- ½ teaspoon pink salt
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of chopped pecans
- 1 tablespoon of Sea Salt Flakes for topping
- Preheat oven at 350 degrees.
- Slowly melt stick of butter over medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl combine all ingredients. Slowly add in sifted flour. Add pecans. Mix well.
- Pour and spread into a 10 x 16 pan that's lightly buttered and floured.
- Bake until done. Toothpick clean
- Sprinkle with sea salt flakes
- Let cool and cut into squares.
