Today, I’m re-posting this 2016 Lemon Lime water cleanse article because timing is EVERYTHING in this post-Thanksgiving week. This Lemon Lime water cleanse is by far, one of my most popular posts and much needed this week. This cleanse is needed after gluttonous eating, seasonal transitions, and because the body needs a reset. Enjoy!

It’s time to cleanse!
Yesterday we transitioned into Springtime!!! [THIS IS WHERE YOU DRAMATICALLY OVERREACT!! ]
The spring equinox is the perfect time to; restore balance and implement healthy practices in your life after a dark, cold, comfort-eating winter.
Last December, I did my first seasonal cleanse for the winter solstice, and I loved it. I highly recommend seasonal cleansing as a renewal process to eliminate toxins from the body and re-energize your life.
Today, we’re detoxing with lemon-lime water. Why lemons and limes? Great question.
- They’re an excellent source of vitamin C.
- They super-boost your immune system.
- Loosen toxins in the digestive tract.
- Stimulate the liver and flush out toxins in your body.
- Reduce inflammation.
The benefits are endless. I highly recommend this book you will be surprised, it’s not always obvious which foods are good for you and which ones aren’t.
To get started, you’ll need:
Lemons, Limes, spring water, and a 1-liter container. Yes, a liter container, I would like for you to drink more than one glass of water per day 🙂
First, slice one lemon and one lime set aside. Then squeeze the juice of 2 lemons and 1 lime into your container, add your lemon and lime slices, and fill the container with spring water.
Voila!
For beginners, I recommend drinking 2- 8-ounce glasses of lemon-lime water throughout the day eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and leafy green salads. Do this for two or three days; then increase your water intake to 3-8 oz glasses per day on a consistent basis, you will be amazed how rejuvenated your body will feel. And that glow!
Your brain will try and convince you otherwise. It’s during this time; you will learn your body has been humoring your brain before now. Relax; brain just let it happen.
Trust your body my friend; you’ll be OK.
When life gives you lemons and limes…make lemon-lime water cleanse.

Beautiful! I start everyday with warm lemon water with a pinch of cayenne and the rest of the day I drink lemon and lime infused water. Water is not my favorite so infusing it helps me consume more.

You had me at glow! I love that you can still eat solid foods during this cleanse. I will have to try this for a few days when I get back from my in-laws for Easter.
Tonya
Yes! Give it a try after Easter, your body will thank you for it.

This is a great reminder, Tonya! We have some lemons leftover from a previous recipe, and I should totally make a big pitcher of water with them today. And I think I have some limes right now, too. Thanks for the encouragement…and happy Spring! 🙂

YESSS. DO IT. 🙂

I wish I could do a cleanse…I need it. But I’m sure with breastfeeding that will be hard. But I’ll save this for later.
